About Us
Ed Klein, the CEO and Investment Advisor at HIA, has been investing for Harborites for 36 years. He is a 1973 graduate of Hoquiam High School and graduated from Washington State University in 1977. He played on the Cougar golf team for 4 years. Following a short career in golf and stints in real estate and office machine sales, Ed entered the investment business in 1982. He considers himself “old school” and “a student of the investment game”. Ed plans on working another 7-10 years and hiring a junior partner in the near future. His hobbies include: golf, family, golf, reading and golf vacations.
Laurie Kollman has been Ed’s sales assistant since 1997. She is the paperwork expert of the office. Laurie graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1976 and was a 2 time MVP for the Aberdeen High School girl’s basketball team. She graduated from Grays Harbor College in 1997. Her hobbies include: gardening, cooking, golf, and traveling.
The office site at 405 W. Heron St. in Aberdeen, WA has been completely remodeled. In the past it has been: A dress shop, beauty salon, a retail ski shop, an art framing shop, a restaurant and a punchboard/pull-tab business. The location is on one of the busiest streets in Grays Harbor, making it a very convenient location. Further expansion is planned.
